eSIM Frequently Asked Questions
When you buy an EZEE Mobile physical SIM you will get a trio SIM that has several different sizes.
A trio SIM contains the following sizes:
- Standard (25mm x 15mm)
- Micro (15mm x 12mm)
- Nano (12.3mm x 8.8mm)
Depending on what your handset requires you can choose which SIM size to use.
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that allows you to activate a plan without the need to insert a physical SIM card.
An eSIM is different to a physical SIM as it is built into a compatible device, whereas a physical SIM is a plastic SIM card that you insert into your device.
Things to check before setting up your EZEE Mobile eSIM:
- Is your device eSIM capable? Check whether your device is eSIM capable by referring to the device specifications or to the menu settings.
- Can you scan the QR code? To activate an EZEE Mobile eSIM, the device you want your eSIM to be on either needs to be able to scan the generated eSIM QR code or needs to have the EZEE Mobile app. Check your phone settings to see whether QR code scanning is turned on.
- Wi-Fi: Stable and continued access to strong Wi-Fi is needed during the entire activation process.
Now that you have checked and ensured the things above, we can set up your new eSIM. Follow the steps below to activate an eSIM:

Yes, you can convert your physical SIM card to an eSIM if your device is compatible. You can change to an eSIM via our website or by downloading the EZEE Mobile app.
To move to eSIM you will need to be connected to Wi-Fi and have access to another device to scan your QR code. All instructions will be given to you.
No problem, once you have a new compatible device, simply log into your EZEE Mobile account (either via our website or by downloading the EZEE Mobile app) and complete a SIM swap.
No, you can’t. Once you have scanned the QR code the eSIM profile is downloaded to specific device you scanned the QR code with. Once that happens, you can no longer use the QR code and would need to go through the SIM replacement steps in the app to generate and obtain a new QR code.
The first step of we recommend is to restart your device. This usally reboots the system and fixes the issue. If this does not help then try the following:
- Make sure that if you've swapped to an eSIM from a physical SIM that you've taken the old plastic SIM out of your device
- If your phone is capable of handling multiple SIMs, you will have to filter through your SIMs on your device settings and select the correct eSIM.
- Please know that if your device can handle multiple SIMs that only one eSIM can be active at a time.
- You can still use your eSIM if you also have a physical SIM connected as long as the service numbers are different.
